Carolyn Ketchel announced today that she is a candidate for Okaloosa County Commission, District 2. Carolyn Ketchel brings a wealth of experience having worked on the Federal, State and local level.
Carolyn Ketchel was accepted into the prestigious Presidential Management Fellowship program after graduate school. While in Washington she served on the the Commission to Reform Social Security under President Reagan. She was recognized for her work on Social Security by President Reagan. Carolyn Ketchel worked in the United States Congress as a subcommittee Director for the powerful Ways and Means Committee.
Mrs. Ketchel has had a private Counseling practice for many years. She also hosts a radio program on WPSM called a Christian Perspective with Carolyn Ketchel. She was the Director of Catholic Charities from September of 2007-2012. Recently she was appointed to the Gubernatorial Faith Based-and Community-Based Advisory Council by Senate President Don Gaetz.
When asked why she wanted to seek the office of County Commission, Carolyn Ketchel stated, “ We need to get Okaloosa County back on track and restore trust and accountability to the commission. I feel it is imperative that we do not seek to grow government and raise taxes on the heels of a fragile recovery. My experience positions me to be a positive force for change and take Okaloosa in the direction that seeks creative solutions to our problems.”
Carolyn Ketchel is married to Terry Ketchel and they have two adult sons.
